Validation of the CLAS service upgrade to increase the number of augmented satellites.

Jul.22,2025
National Space Policy Secretariat, Cabinet Office

CLAS has been under development to increase the number of augmented satellites for service upgrade. This upgrade is planned to start in early September 2025.

IS-QZSS-L6-007 defines two patterns of L6D signals with different combinations of augmented satellites, which can be combined to increase the number of augmented satellites for users who can acquire and use two L6D signals.

2. Validation of the service upgrade

For the validation of this service improvement, L6D signals for CLAS Transmit Pattern 1 or 2 as defined in IS-QZSS-L6-007 will be transmitted as follows. Once the service of increasing the number of augmented satellites by combining CLAS Transmit Patterns 1 and 2, as defined in IS-QZSS-L6-007 Section 4.1.1.2, is validated, the service will be officially launched. We will announce the start date on our website.

- Validation period: July 28, 2025 - August 31, 2025
- Format: In accordance with IS-QZSS-L6-007
- Transmit Pattern:

Satellite Name PRNnumber CLAS Transmit Pattern
QZS2 194 2
QZS4 195 1
QZS1R 196 2
QZS3 199 1

- Signal: L6D
- Alert flag: None

Note:
- Existing receivers compliant with IS-QZSS-L6-005, which do not combine CLAS Transmit Pattern 1 and 2, can continue to use normal CLAS services during this validation period.
- The validation may be cancelled or interrupted depending on circumstances.
- CLASLIB for IS-QZSS-L6-007 is available as version 0.8.2. Please see below for download and terms of use.
