About SBAS Transmission Service
- Q. Has SBAS Transmission Service with QZS3/L1Sb started already?
- Q. Now that MTSAT SBAS Transmission Service has terminated, and Michibiki SBAS is in operation. Can I still use a MSAS compatible receiver to receive SBAS (L1Sb) from the QZS-3? I want to make sure if MSAS (SBAS) receivers are still compatible.

About Michibiki Overall
A. It has already started since 1st November, 2018.
A. You need a following product:
Satellite positioning service: Signals L1C/A, L1C, L2C, L5
A. Michibiki service is free of charge, you just need a product compatible with the signals.
A. Not for now. Current 4-satellite constellation requires receiving signals from more than 4 satellites either of GPS, GNSS and etc. When 7-satellite constellation completes, Michiki signals can measure positioning without any others.

About Satellite Positioning Service
A. You can find those satellites positioning service specs in “Performance Standard (PS-QZSS)” and “Interface Specification (IS-QZSS-PNT)” in the link below.
A. You can learn it in “Performance Standard (PS-QZSS)”. QZS transmits the same positioning signals as GPS but error occurs at some messages. Error information is shown as reference in “IS-QZSS-PNT”.
IS-QZSS-PNT
・4.1.2.7 (L1C/A)
・4.2.2.5 (L1C)
・4.3.2.15 (L2C, L5)
About Sub-meter Level Augmentation Service (SLAS)
A. It is available only in Japan. You can find its service area in “5.2 Service Area” in “Performance Standard (PS-QZSS)” in the link below.
About Centimeter Level Augmentation Service (CLAS)
A. Please send email from “Contact Us” on this website.
About Centimeter Level Augmentation Service (CLAS)
A. SBAS Transmission Service with QZS3/L1Sb (PRN137) has started since April 2020.
A. Yes, you can technically use them, because SBAS (L1Sb) is the same as MSAS sent from MTSAT, and through Civil Aviation Bureau in Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. But please note that non-aviation application receivers have different compatibilities depending on makers. Please contact the maker of your device if you use one of them.
About Signal availability of QZSS
A. Signal availability is the availability of a radio signal in a specified coverage area. It is indicated as the percentage of time that the transmitted navigation signals from the satellites are available for use.
The signal availability of the Japanese regional navigation satellite system, Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS) is shown as below (from August 2020 to July 2021).
