QZS paper models
Download this PDF file to make four Quasi-Zenith Satellite (QZS) paper models: QZS-1 launched in September 2010 by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), and QZS-2, QZS-3, and QZS-4 to be launched by the Cabinet Office (QZS-2 and 4 have the same form, so the file includes three types in total). The Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS) will be operated as a four-satellite constellation starting in FY2018.

Have fun making QZS

QZS-1 (top; the solar array wings are slightly longer than QZS-2 through QZS- 4), QZS-2 and 4 (bottom left, basic form of the satellite that travels a figure-eight-shaped quasi-zenith satellite orbit [QZO]), QZS-3 (bottom right; travels a geostationary orbit [GEO] and communicates with the ground using a parabolic antenna)
1) Download and print the PDF file
First, download the QZS paper model PDF file to your computer and print it out (single sided) on two sheets of A4-sized paper. Use thicker or shiny paper, such as model paper, to make more attractive and stable models.
2) Choose which satellite to make
You can make three types of satellites: QZS-1, QZS-2 and 4, and QZS-3.
